Okay so my tech-support guy wrote back to me again, and continued to be very sweet and polite while telling me that there was really nothing that he could do and that tech support just. Isn’t in charge of/in possession of the files I was begging for, basically. So that’s the end of that.

BUT. HERE IS A LINK to the 2K forums, where bogdiddy started a thread asking where SitS was.

This lovely member rootbeertapper is going to be hosting some of (all of???) the content on their website, rapturearchives.org

And here is a test/preview page. Which doesn’t have any real working parts yet BUT which was really nice for me to just…visit. I might or might not have lovingly stroked my screen a little because I have a Mark Meltzer problem.

And of course there is still the Bioshock wiki, which is far from nothing.

So I am currently holding out hope that IT WILL BE OKAY.

But if you are restless like me and/or just like writing letters, joining the forum and making friends with ‘tapper might be a good next step. To offer support/encouragement/fangirlism, hopefully in a less awkward and fragmented way than me.

Or, if you’ve got the energy, join the thread discussion, so if nothing else it’s one more person who likes this thing, or who got into it late, or wants to see it around.

And lastly I think Istillwould like to maybe find a way to petition for something official, even though I have no idea where to start or who to ask anymore, and even though I know the odds are very slim. It’s just. Principle. At this point.

SO! Short version: SitS is gone for real, but there’s some pretty hardcore fan-archiving going on already, and we should go and thank rootbeertapper for that, all six-ish of us.
